Your softness isn't weakness, it's the purest form of strength. To feel deeply is special. It takes more work to protect yourself, but you get to experience life so much more fully now. Small things aren't small to you. Things that others would miss in their hurry, you slow down for. There's a quote on Pinterest I found that says, "Attention is the rarest and purest form of generosity." I want to live slow, walk slow, breathe deeply – I don't want to miss all the little things. Feeling a lot means I'll hurt a lot more than those who don't feel as much, but it also means the joyful moments will be deep, rich, and really beautiful.
Expressing Creativity
This kind of softness isn't meant to be carried inside. It's meant to be turned into art, movies, books – entertainment for those who are stuck in the hamster wheel. Stuck living for everyone except themselves or living only for themselves. Rushing through life to get to an end destination is missing the entire point. It's never been about the end – always about each step, turn, laugh, story, climb and conversation along the way. Each journey is different. There are happy little distractions and stories that unfold unexpectedly along the way.
Creative Expression
There are also dark paths riddled with bones, thorns, and traps. Some get lost here – your art, music, poetry, stories, movies, books have power. They may stumble upon it and think of it at first as entertainment, but just know your creative expression has power. Power to become the light at the end of that dark place. It can breed hope or it can breed more darkness. With great power comes great responsibility. There's another quote that goes, "The world isn't changed by your opinion, it's changed by your example." As a creative, you see the world through a different set of lenses. Use your creativity to allow others to see through that lens too. Imagine the hope and joy you could spread by courageously sharing your perspective, your heart, your art.
"Why then did God give them free will? Because free will, though it makes evil possible, is the only thing that makes possible any love or goodness, or joy – worth having." -C.S. Lewis
